Prime Minister Narendra Modi would inaugurate the newly built international terminal at the Vadodara airport, by making his fourth visit to the State in three months and first to the city after getting elected to the Lok Sabha.
Modi, who had promised the people of Gujarat to be more 'available' to them than ever before, last visited the State on September 17 - his birthday at Limkheda in Dahod and Navsari.
On Saturday, Modi will visit Vadodara for the first time after getting elected from the city with record margin of over 5.7 lakh votes. However, he vacated the seat in favour of Varanasi.
Besides inaugurating the international terminal, Modi will also distribute artificial limbs and other equipment to about 8,000 differently-abled. Tight security arrangements have been made at the airport premises and across the city.
The new terminal, which was planned in the UPA era in 2009-10, has been built at a cost of ₹ 160 crore and has the capacity to handle 700 passengers for both domestic and international travels every hour. The terminal, termed as the second only green terminal after Chandigarh, has 18 check-in counters.
