The State machinery got busy today to make arrangements for the visit of Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh, on February 4, to give a push to two mega projects — the L&T implemented Hyderabad Metro Rail Project and Rajiv Yuva Kiranalu.
The Chief Minister, Mr N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, along with ministers and government officials inspected the Gachibowli main stadium for “Rajiv Yuva Kiranalu” function and the proposed site for the “Hyderabad Metro Rail Project” near NIFT, Madhapur.
In an ambitious initiative, the Prime Minister is expected to participate as chief guest in the programme for the issue of one lakh appointment orders under “Rajiv Yuva Kiranalu”. The Kiran Kumar Reddy Government has committed to provide 15 lakh jobs in the private sector to the unemployed youth in the coming three years.
The Chief Minister visited the site identified where the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for the delayed Rs 14,132-crore Hyderabad Metro Rail Project. The project, which will have three high-density traffic corridors (71.16 km), will be taken up in Phase-I, Miyapur-LB Nagar (28.87 km; 27 stations) within 45 minutes (1 hour 44 minutes by road), Secunderabad-Falaknuma (14.78 km; 16 stations) within 22 minutes (1 hour 10 minutes by road), Nagole-Shilparamam (27.51 km; 23 stations) within 39 minutes (1 hour 26 minutes by road).
An international MRTS consultancy major, Louis Berger, is the Independent Engineer for the Project AECOM, another international consultancy major, is the General Consultant (GC) for Concessionaire, while L&T is the main project implementer.
