Railways will launch two dozen new trains across the country tomorrow in keeping with an announcement made in the Rail Budget for 2011—2012.
“Railway Minister, Mr Dinesh Trivedi, will announce the commencement of 24 new trains tomorrow,” said a senior Railway Ministry official.
Asked whether the date of announcement is being decided keeping the auspicious November 11, 2011 in mind, the official answered in the negative, saying, “It has just coincided, nothing else.”
The announcement includes increasing frequency of four trains and further extension of the journey of six trains.
Bikaner—Delhi Sarai Rohilla Intercity, Jodhpur—Delhi Sarai Rohilla Express, Jharsuguda—Bhubaneswar Rajarani Express, Bhuj—Dadar Express, Puri—Secunderabad Express and Jaipur—Kamakhya Kabiguru Express are among the 24 new trains to be launched by Mr Trivedi tommorrow.
After the announcement by the Railway Minister, these trains will be flagged off by the local MPs and MLAs from their respective stations.
“All these new trains were announced in the rail Budget 2011—12. Whatever announcement has been made in the budget will be fulfilled,” said the official.
