For training officers in Railway finance, an Indian Railway Institute of Financial Management will be set up in Secunderabad.
Vijaya Kanth, Financial Commissioner, Indian Railways, said this while celebrating Indian Railway Accounts Service (IRAS) day. The first-ever IRAS-Day was celebrated on November 24, which coincided with the month in which the Acworth Committee was announced in 1920. Acworth Committee recommended the separation of Railway finances from the general finances of the country.
