The State Road Transport Corporation has suffered a loss of Rs 120 crore due to the strike in the last 20 days.
At a review meeting of the ongoing general strike held by the Chief Minister, Mr N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, officials informed that the transport corporation was already under loss and the present stir has added to its financial crisis.
The new Chief Secretary, Mr Pankaj Dwivedi, told officials that stringent action should be taken against trouble-makers in the National Highways and adequate protection should be ensured to the vehicles and passengers passing through them.
He also asked the Finance Department to co-ordinate with the Rural Development and other departments and see that social welfare pensions are disbursed immediately so as to avoid any inconvenience.
