Southern Railways will run a special train to Tiruchi from Chennai to clear the extra rush of passengers for Diwali.
Train No.06861 Chennai Egmore – Tiruchchirappalli Superfast Special (via Main Line) will leave Chennai Egmore on October 20 (Monday) at 10.45 p.m. and reach Tiruchi at 6 a.m. the next day.
The train will stop at Chengalpattu, Villupuram, Tiruppadirippuliyur, Chidambaram, Mayiladuthurai, Kumbakonam and Thanjavur.
The composition of the train will be one AC 2-tier; two AC 3-tier; ten sleeper class; six general class and two luggage-cum-brake van coaches.
Advance reservation for the above train will commence on October 19, says a release from Southern Railways.
