Shipping Corporation of India on Thursday said it would be investing around $114 million to acquire six offshore vessels.
“We will float domestic tender for six anchor-handling vessels,” SCI Director (technical and offshore services) Mr Arun Kumar Gupta told reporters on the sidelines of an industry meet organised by FICCI here.
Mr Gupta said each of the anchor-handling vessels would cost around $19 million. According to reports, SCI is keen on ramping up its offshore presence and plans to spend up to $250 million to acquire 10 offshore vessels in the near future.
