The South Eastern Railway (SER) posted a nearly 14 per cent increase in earnings from passenger traffic between April and September to Rs 624 crore, as against Rs 550 crore in the year-ago period.
According to a release, SER carried 136.74 million passengers during this period, compared to 129 million passengers carried last year. Of the total, 73.53 million were non-suburban passengers, while 63.21 million were suburban passengers.
SER loaded 61.24 million tonnes of freight during this period, as against 59.84 mt last year.
