The South Eastern Railway’s freight earnings increased by nearly Rs 83 crore over the last seven months (April to October) this fiscal to Rs 5,052 crore.
It earned Rs 4,969 crore during this period in 2011-12.
According to a SER spokesperson, it also surpassed the Railway Board’s target for freight during this period by loading 5.42 million tonnes more freight.
SER loaded 71.61 million tonnes freight over these seven months.
