Having flown Boeing’s narrow body planes — B737s RPT B737 — for 10 years, budget carrier SpiceJet now plans to induct European aviation major Airbus aircraft in its fleet.
The Gurgaon-based carrier currently has a fleet of 35 aircraft with 20 of them Boeing 737s and the rest Bombardier Q400s.
“SpiceJet plans to replace two of its Boeing 737s with Airbus A320 planes. These aircraft are likely to be inducted in the fleet in the coming months,” according to a source in the know.
In April this year, the airline had dry leased three Boeing 737s RPT B737s from the Czech-based firm TVS for a three-month period.
