SriLankan Airlines offers Colombo-Hyderabad daily services

Currently, Srilankan Airlines operates 145 flights per week to India across 14 destinations.

SriLankan Airlines has added two more flights per week to Hyderabad and now offers a daily flight to Colombo and onward connectivity to other destinations. Currently, it operates 145 flights per week to India across 14 destinations.

Chammika Iddagodage, Manager for SriLankan Airlines, in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, said, “India is SriLankan Airlines largest market for holidaying, conferences and even onward connectivity to various locations in Middle East, Far East and lately to Melbourne, which we started late last year.”

The airline, which had strengthened its South India connectivity with three new destinations during July 2017, including Visakhapatnam, Coimbatore and Hyderabad, is now looking to further strengthen its network.

“We started with four flights per week in on July 12, 2017 and added fifth one in November and this has been further bolstered with two more flights. Now we fly seven flights a week. This is a measure of the potential and opportunity for us,” he told

BusinessLine.

Mentioning about leisure travellers, Iddagodage said while the Ramayana Tour has been a major attraction for tourists, visitors have begun to explore a number of other locations, including serene interiors. Flight connectivity from over 14 destinations is adding to the convenience of the passengers.

He said travellers are taking Colombo route for connectivity to other destinations in West Asia, Far East and Melbourne. Indians account for a big percentage of fliers to Melbourne. They also get to connect to other destinations through the One World alliance.

As part of promotional offers, the airline is offering one-day stay for people going to some select destinations in Far East and other locations. They get to stay for up to 48 hours during the transit and enjoy local food and hospitality, he added.
