In a bid to improve the public transport, Tamil Nadu inducted 500 news buses worth ₹158.72 crore, says a government press release.
As a symbolic launch, Chief minister Edapaddi K Palaniswami flagged off seven buses. Of the total 500 vehicles, 100 will be allotted to Metropolitan Transport Corporation; 150 to State Express Transport Corporation and the rest to various transport divisions in Villpuram, Kumbakonam, Salem, Coimbatore, Tirunelveli and Madurai, the release said.
