Aerospace materials and logistics provider ThyssenKrupp Aerospace has entered Indian skies by launching its first facility in Bengaluru with an aim to meet the rising demand of the local aerospace industry.
“The ‘Make in India’ mission is an ideal opportunity to work closely with India’s aerospace industry. Our new facility in Bengaluru is dedicated to the revival of Indian economic story and we are very bullish about it as it further strengthens our outlook and commitment to the growing Indian aerospace sector. It enables us to gain important market share in South Asia and brings us in close proximity to our customers to address their needs better,” CEO Jürgen Funke said after inaugurating the facility in Bengaluru.
The facility, spread across a total of 3,300 sq m, will stock the complete range of aerospace materials such as aluminium, titanium and steel in bars, plates, sheets, rounds and more.
As a global services provider in the area of materials, processing and supply chain management ThyssenKrupp Aerospace supplies cut-to-size and machine-ready material that is shipped to the customer just-in-time.
As per industry data, India is expected to become a large market for commercial and defence aircraft in the coming years. Therefore, the company’s foray into India is well timed, as the country has recently embarked upon an ambitious ‘Make In India’ mission and is keen to establish its manufacturing prowess globally.ss
