Lord Astor of Hever, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State, leading the largest-ever delegation of UK firms, at the 10th Aero India said the UK is a natural partner for ‘Make In India’.
The UK has a significant presence at this year’s Aero India. Lord Astor is scheduled to meet top officials of the Ministry of Defence.
Lord Astor said the UK is a natural partner for India’s ‘Make In India’ initiative, based on UK research, development, design and the country's expertise in manufacturing.
The UK’s defence industrial relationship with India is bigger than simple exports and the country is looking for mutually beneficial commercial partnerships leveraging the UK’s technology and India’s mass manufacturing.
Speaking at the UK-India Aerospace Industry, Lord Astor said: “The UK aerospace industry is the largest in Europe and second only to the US globally. It has huge potential for growth. We have more than 30 UK companies participating at Aero India 2015.
"I encourage UK companies and Indian companies to collaborate and deliver winning business solutions,” he added.
