Vistara, a joint venture between Tata group and Singapore Airlines, has introduced an additional daily flight between Delhi and Kolkata during the festive season, effective, September 5.
This additional flight, the third daily flight between the two cities, will operate until October 28, according to a press statement issued by the company.
In addition to Delhi, Vistara also operates daily non-stop flights between Kolkata and Port Blair, and Kolkata and Pune.
Vistara will serve the authentic flavours of Bengal on its flights from Kolkata throughout the month of September to celebrate the joys of the festival with its customers.
The festive menu onboard Vistara would include authentic Bengali dishes such as Chicken Kabiraji, Kosha Aloo Dum, Kasha Mangsho, Kolkata Style Chicken Egg Roll, Maacher Paturi and steamed rice mixed with butter.
The inflight menu would also feature Bengali sweets and desserts typically relished around Durga Puja such as Darbesh and Chanar Payesh, the release said.
“Kolkata has played an important role in Vistara’s growth, and the performance of our flights and market acceptance have grown strongly since we started flying to Kolkata last year,” Sanjiv Kapoor, Chief Strategy and Commercial Officer, Vistara, said, in the statement.
