Hundred per cent self-drive car rental company Zoomcar is betting on Zoomcar Associate Programme (ZAP) for its next milestone.
Greg Moran, Chief Executive and Co-founder, said the company is targeting a fleet of 25,000 vehicles across 30 cities via ZAP model. This is over eight times its existing fleet size of 3,000.
ZAP targetAccording to a company release, it has at present managed to cover 20 per cent of its fleet with 600 registered users through ZAP. Going forward, it is targeting to cover at least 85 to 90 per cent of its fleet through ZAP.
Since its inception in April 2013, the company has established its presence across 25 cities in India and plans to reach five more in the next six months.
He said the ZAP programme allows users and individuals to buy one or more vehicles, which could be leased on a revenue-sharing model during the 30-month lease period.
The owner of a hatchback vehicle has the potential to earn ₹10,000 to ₹15,000 a month (after deductions towards service maintenance, fuel and GST).
Expansion plansThe company offers more than 20 models, including hatchback, sedans, SUVs and luxury cars in major tier I and II cities. It has reported 9 lakh trips in 25 cities with a ticket size of ₹4,000 to ₹6,000 on an average.
Zoomcar is planning to go international by expanding into Africa and Asia in the next two years. “Our intention is to be in 20-plus countries in the next 2 -3 years” he said.
