Kovai Power Driven Pumps and Spares' Manufacturers (KOPMA) has expressed disappointment over the Interim Budget announcements.
"Óur repeated appeals for withdrawing the 2 per cent CST and 6 per cent central excise on non-ISI pumps have not been considered. Small and micro pump manufacturing units are in dire straights. That this Interim Budget has not given much attention to these micro units, which are today struggling to survive, has come as a huge blow, a disappointment for us,'' said K Maniraj, President of KOPMA.
The KOPMA President, however, welcomed the reduction in excise duty and stressed the need for an industrial park on the Coimbatore-Bangalore highway.
