Indian manufacturing sector needs innovation and training to keep pace with the global standards, feels renowned Japanese management guru Shoji Shiba.
Launching his book ‘7 Dreams to Reality: Transforming Indian Manufacturing’ at a seminar organised by CII here, Shiba said, “There is a need for proper training for the people associated with the manufacturing industry in the country.”
Shiba, who was given the Padma Shri in 2012 in recognition of his significant contribution to India’s manufacturing sector, is the Chief Adviser to the Champions for Societal Manufacturing programme.
The book is woven around seven intriguing stories of changes in the way manufacturing industry works in India. According to Shiba, these anecdotes range from product innovation to distribution.
