A CBI court today extended till April 17 the judicial custody of former Karnataka Minister and mining baron, Mr G. Janardhana Reddy, and his personal assistant, Mr Mehfuz Ali Khan, arrested in connection with an illegal mining case.
The Additional Civil and Sessions Court Judge and CBI special court judge, Mr B.M. Angadi, passed the order after the CBI moved an application seeking extension of custody.
Associated Mining Corporation and Deccan Mining Syndicate owned by Mr Reddy and his wife, Ms Aruna Lakshmi, have been facing probe over charges of illegal mining.
Mr Reddy and Mr Khan, lodged in Bangalore central prison, were produced in court via video-conferencing.
Meanwhile, the judge has fixed the hearing on bail pleas of Mr Reddy and Mr Khan was fixed on April 17.
