Modi govt cleared 40 new defence projects in one year: Rajnath

The Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh today said the Modi government has cleared 40 new projects in defence sector in the last one year.

While addressing a press conference here, he announced that soon the government will start a bus service from Kolkata to Agartala which will go via Dhaka.

On Goods and Services Tax, Rajnath said the GST Bill will be passed during the Monsoon Session.

Crude Bomb Making in Bengal

The law and order situation in Bengal has to improve, Rajnath Singh said.

According to him, the reports of crude bomb making across districts in Bengal are "serious".

"The law and order situation in Bengal needs to improve. Considering the reports of crude bombs being made here, it is serious," he said.

Though he was critical of the law and order situation in Bengal, he stressed on the need for "cooperative federalism" between Centre and states.
