Manganese Ore India Ltd (MOIL) will hold an interactive session on ‘Mineral-based industries in Maharashtra’ tomorrow that will be attended by the Union Shipping and Transport Minister, Nitin Gadkari.
Besides Gadkari, the Minister for Steel and Mines, Narendra Singh Tomar, and representatives of various public sector undertakings and stakeholders in the mining sector will attend the session, MOIL Chairman and Managing Director G P Kundergi told reporters here yesterday.
Top officials of Western Coalfields Ltd, Mineral Exploration Corporation of India, Geological Survey of India, representatives of trade and commerce organisations, Vidarbha Industries Association, Vidarbha Economic Development Council, Butiburi and MIDC Hingana Manufacturers Association will also take part in the event.
Maharashtra Director General of Mines Safety will make a presentation on the occasion.
Later, both Gadkari and Tomar will attend a programme in Mansar, about 50 km from here, where vertical shaft sinking will be done in more than a century-old mine.
The Mansar mine is an opencast mine with incline method and the new shaft will help reach deep inside it, Kundargi added.
