After Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister P. Chidambaram, the Planning Commission is all set to interact with cyberfolks on the Twelfth Plan.
On March 15 at 5 p.m., Plan panel Deputy Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia and the National Innovation Council Chairman Sam Pitroda will host the panel’s first Google Hangout. The Secretary, Planning Commission, will also be present.
“The aim is to communicate the Twelfth Plan through social media platforms to enhance public participation and citizen engagement,” an official release said on Wednesday.
Over the next few months, the Planning Commission will also publicise the contents of the Plan on other social media channels including Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and YouTube.
“The Google Hangout takes forward the inclusive process followed by the Commission in formulating the Plan,” the release said.
In formulating the Twelfth Plan, the Planning Commission said it consulted more widely and received inputs from over 950 civil society organisations, multiple business associations, all State Governments, as well as local representative institutions and unions.
“The Plan has been approved by the National Development Council and the aim now is to share its vision with the country’s citizens,” it added.
