The MSME Ministry is planning a separate policy for SSIs, SMEs and MSMEs with an aim to reduce paper work and cut down the number of inspections.
Kalraj Mishra, Union Minister for MSMEs, speaking after inaugurating the ‘MSME-Centre of Excellence’ at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, said: “Currently the sector is facing lot of problems. We plan to help them with few new guidelines.”
“In order to prepare a separate policy, we have called an all-India meet of various associations involved in SSIs, SMEs and MSMEs activities on June 26 in New Delhi to seek suggestions and inputs,” he added.
The Ministry is planning to simplify the forms or paper work required. Also, it is planning to make all applications and issuances of licences Web-enabled and reduce the number of inspections.
Taking the advice of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, Mishra said: “We are planning to set up single-window mechanism exclusively for MSMEs.”
“Currently in the absence of it, they are facing a lot of problems. We want to approach the sector in an integrated manner. The single window will help in inter-departmental co-ordination and also simplify procedures,” he added.
