Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Tuesday announced that the Government has set up a new committee to simplify the Income-Tax Act,1961.
"We have been trying to make the I-T Act more simple and resolve taxpayer issues in the last few months. So we have decided to constitute a committee to simplify the provisions of the Act," he said.
The 10-member committee will be led by Justice RV Easwar, former Judge of the Delhi High Court and former President ITAT.
