Users of diesel, domestic LPG and PDS kerosene have no immediate worries of a price hike. The Government has said it has no plans to revise prices of these regulated products. After an inter-ministerial group meeting on inflation, the Petroleum Minister, Mr S. Jaipal Reddy, said: “We are not considering a hike in prices of diesel, domestic LPG and kerosene. It is out of question right now.”
The Minister, however, refused to comment on any partial rollback petrol prices. On reports of a possible meeting of the Empowered Group of Ministers to decide on diesel, domestic LPG and PDS kerosene prices, the Minister said, “no date has yet been set.”
However, according to sources a meeting might take place as early as June 1.
