The Coal Ministry is yet to firm up a dateline for de-allocation of coal blocks.
An inter-ministerial panel headed by Additional Secretary in Coal Ministry, Zohra Chatterji, would submit its report on 58 blocks by September 15.
“Let the panel first submit its report. Then ask me when will the final decision (on de-allocation) be taken,’’ Coal Minister Sriprakash Jaiswal told reporters on Monday.
The panel is scrutinising the replies given by 58 captive mine owners who are yet to explore their blocks. Out of these 58 blocks, 20 blocks have also figured out in CAG report on coal blocks allocation.
The panel is scheduled to meet on Monday to discuss the issue.
