The School of Petroleum Management (SPM), Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University (PDPU), will organise the Oil and Gas India Roundtable 2011 at the university campus here on October 14.
The Hindu Business Line will be media partner in the one-day event, to be attended by a number of experts from the hydrocarbon sector.
The aim of the Roundtable is to provide an information-sharing platform for comprehensive analysis of critical issues in oil and gasvalue chain which contribute to the energy security of India, said Professors Akash Patel and Kaushal Kishore, Chairpersons, Oil & Gas India Roundtable 2011 here on Tuesday.
Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh Ambani is the Chairperson of the Board of Governors of PDPU, recognized by the UGC is an academic institution of higher education and research in energy sector. PDPU had been established about four years ago by the Gujarat Energy Research and Management Institute (GERMI), promoted by GSPC Limited, a State Government undertaking.
The Roundtable will have four sessions on energy security, opportunity and challenges in value chain, talent management and innovative technologies.
The SPM, started as a world-class institution with the objective of developing managerial manpower across the entire value chain for the energy infrastructure sector, has also taken up the task of playing an important role in deliberating on various facets of varying importance to the sector, with specific focus on oil and gas sector. The Roundtable will be the seventh high-profile knowledge event organised by SPM since 2009.
Among the participants to the Roundtable will be Mr Vijay Malik (Senior Vice-President, RIL), Mr Rajeev Sonthalia (Country Manager, Schlumberger), Mr S C Gupta (CEO, Offshore Division, ABG Shipyard), Mr T Srinivasan (Head, Essar Oil), Mr AK Chopra (VP, Petronet LNG) and Mr DJ Pandian, Principal Secretary, Energy and Petrochemicals Department, Gujarat Government.
