Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his address to the nation on Sunday, said he too faced an exam on Monday when the Union Budget for 2016-17 would be presented.
“I have an exam tomorrow. 125 crore citizens are going to test me as the Budget will be presented in Parliament,” the PM said concluding his monthly radio address `Mann Ki Baat’.
In his speech, which was mostly focused on students taking their board examinations next week, Modi said the youth should not think of examination as a game of numbers and their lives should be linked to a much larger purpose.
“Set your targets and pursue them with a free mind, without pressure. Compete with yourself and not others,” he said.
The PM advised students that they should not dwell on the past and instead prepare well for the future. “Your mind is often entangled in the exam that is over, but don't do this. What has passed, has passed,” he said.
Modi also reiterated the benefits of yoga and meditation and the role it could play in disciplining one's mind.
Former cricketer Sachin Tendulkar and chess champion Vishwanathan Anand also joined the PM in his address.
