Nearly 50 lakh Central Government employees and pensioners will get higher dearness allowance and dearness relief. The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved increasing DA (for regular employee) and dearness relief (for pensioners) by 7 per cent. This will be effective from July 1.
With this hike, DA and DR will increase from 65 per cent to 72 per cent. The combined impact of DA and DR would be in the order of Rs 7408.24 crore a year while it will be Rs 4938.78 crore for eight months of this current fiscal.
