The West Bengal Chief Minister, Ms Mamata Banerjee, on Friday said that elections in Darjeeling would be held with the forming of the Gorkha Territorial Administration (GTA).
“The GTA agreement has been drafted and elections in the region will be held in accordance and provisions of the agreement,” she told reporters at Writers' Buildings.
The President, Ms Pratibha Patil, has already given assent to the Gorkha Territorial Administration Bill for establishment of the hill council.
