The Gunderipallam reservoir near Sathyamangalam forest area in the district has been filled up following heavy rains.
According to officials, a team of PWD officials are camping in the area to monitor the situation as overflows may cause floods in the river Bhavani.
Many areas in the district received heavy to moderate rainfall. The amount of rainfall recorded (in mm) are: Ammapet 110 mm, Athani 95 mm, Thookanaickkenpalayam 83 mm, Sandaipet 74 mm and Gobichettipalayam 70 mm.
