The special court for Central Bureau of Investigation has on Friday granted conditional bail to senior IAS officer and former Secretary Industries (including mining), Ms Srilakshmi, in the illegal mining case.

The bail was granted on a security of Rs 25,000 and personal guarantee from two persons. The court had also asked Ms Srilakshmi to be available for CBI for investigation and not to go out of the country.

Ms Lakshmi, who was remanded till Dec 12 on Thursday, was later released from the Chenchalguda prison in the evening.

The State Government had suspended her from service yesterday as she was arrested early this week. So far CBI has arrested five persons in the illegal mining case including former Karnataka minister, Mr Gali Janardhana Reddy, and Managing Director of Obulapuram Mining Company, Mr Srinivasa Reddy.

The chargesheet is likely to be filed on Saturday, according to sources.
