Public sector oil retailers have reduced petrol prices by 70 paise a litre (excluding State levies) with effect from midnight of April 15. This is a second decrease this month. Diesel prices remained untouched.
In a statement issued here on Tuesday, Indian Oil Corporation said, “The continued appreciation of the rupee has resulted in a reduction in petrol prices, warranting the proposed decrease in selling price by 70 paise/litre (excluding State levies) with effect from midnight of April 15.
With this price revision, retail selling price at Delhi will decrease by 85 paise/litre.” On April 1, petrol prices were reduced by 75 paise/litre excluding State levies, resulting in Retail Selling Price in Delhi going down by 90 paise/litre.
