To bring more transparency and accountability in the implementation of various welfare schemes, the Punjab Government on Wednesday issued instructions for the release of funds to panchayats and other beneficiaries through an electronic transfer system.
State Finance Minister Parminder Singh Dhindsa said the orders had been issued in pursuance of the directions given by the Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal.
All the departments have been asked to strictly implement it by October 31, 2012 and also get the bank account number and other relevant information of the beneficiaries so that funds are given through the new e-payment system.
