The Sikkim government will explore alternative sources of funding from financial institutions such as Asian Development Bank and World Bank in the interest of the victims of the last month's earthquake, the Chief Minister, Mr Pawan Chamling, said on Monday.
“Besides the Rs 1,000 crore announced by the Prime Minister, it is very much within the prerogative of the State to go in for alternative source of funding for rebuilding the state infrastructure and help the victims,” Mr Chamling said.
The Chief Minister was addressing the ‘Rastriya Sankalpa Diwas' function organised at Chintan Bhawan, Gangtok.
