Employers and provident fund subscribers can now access Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) offices in 120 locations in the country. In fact, subscribers can check their claims or account transfer status online from any part of the world.
Computerisation in all offices of the EPFO, except Keonjhar in Odisha, was completed before March 2011, the target date, according to a circular issued here on Wednesday.
A new feature that has been added is that the status of updation of PF accounts can be checked online. The effort is to make the entire process transparent and efficient, said Mr S.K Chatterjee, Central Provident Commissioner.
