Water levels in dams in Kerala have receded compared to readings made in the last week, according to the Central Water Commission (CWC) said.
This is despite a reasonably good rainfall recorded during the northeast monsoon season and (till now) the ongoing pre-monsoon activity.
The Idukki reservoir, the largest in the State, saw the level come down by 3.06 feet to 2,317.10 feet during the latest reporting week ending May 14.
At Idamalayar, the level has dropped 5.97 feet week-on-week to 453.35 feet, the CWC said.
The reservoir level is at 313.98 feet at Kallada, which represented a reduction by 1.31 feet compared to the week ago.
