The focus of Human Resource Development (HRD) Ministry is to promote all Indian languages, said HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ in a meeting with the heads of Central Language Institutions here on Thursday.
“There is a need for discovering innovative ways to promote these languages and do research in Indian languages,” said Pokhriyal.
The literature in each Indian language must be translated into other languages so that all can appreciate the best of Indian literature, he added.
In a bid to promote Sanskrit language, more highly qualified Sanskrit teachers/professors should be engaged to give new dimensions to the language both at the national and international level, he said.
The Minister stressed on creation of at least two Sanskrit-speaking villages near the Sanskrit institutions in the country.
Pokhriyal further added, “In the coming years, the Ministry will establish ‘Bhasha Bhawan’, a building in which all the institutes related to Indian languages will be located together and work for the betterment of these languages.”
