Banks in Andhra Pradesh have asked the State Government to establish a central registry for micro, small and medium enterprises at the earliest.
A request to this effect has been made by the State Level Bankers’ Committee to the Government last week.
A central registry is expected to streamline credit facilities to the eligible MSMEs in the State. At present, the State has 33 MSME clusters which are dependent on bank credit for their business needs.
SLBC had also asked lead banks in the districts, where the MSME clusters were located, to focus on meeting their credit requirements and enhance credit flow to the sector.
