Bihar to ban polythene bags

The Deputy Chief Minister, Mr S.K. Modi, today said the State government would soon ban polythene bags in Bihar on the lines of Delhi, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh. He said the Centre had decided to effect a ban on sale and use of polythene bags with thickness of less than 40 microns and the State government would have to enforce a similar order to reduce adverse effects on environment by polythene bags.
