The Delhi Chief Minister, Ms Sheila Dikshit, has said her government would examine whether Delhiites can be provided some sort of relief following the hike in diesel, kerosene and cooking gas by the Centre.
“We will examine it...We will discuss it in the Cabinet,” she said replying to a question on how the common man will manage following the hike in diesel, kerosene and LPG prices.
“The central government had to hike the rates out of compulsion as the prices of oil in the international market have gone up,” Ms Dikshit said.
The Centre had yesterday hiked the prices of diesel by Rs 3 a litre, kerosene Rs 2 a litre and cooking gas by Rs 50 a cylinder.
To a question on her stand on militant Davinder Pal Singh Bhullar’s execution, she said the Centre would take a decision on the issue.
“A representation had come from his mother. We referred it to the Home Ministry,” she said.
