The Lok Sabha may consider Banking Regulation Amendment Bill and Amendment in SARFESI Act on Monday.
Both these Bills were listed for consideration and passage on Thursday, but the House could not complete the business due to adjournment for the day at 2 p.m. on Babri Mosque issue.
However, just before adjournment for the day, Deputy Speaker in Lok Sabha Karia Munda announced that the Speaker had agreed to postpone consideration and passage the Banking Laws (Amendment) Bill 2011. This was done following objections by CPI leader Gurudas Dasgupta that due procedure was not followed.
Meanwhile, Finance Minister P. Chidambaram hoped that banking Bills could be taken up on Monday. He also said that there was demand to first take up amendment in SARFESI Act.
