Elders pass Bankruptcy Bill

The Insolvency and Bankruptcy Bill, 2016 was passed in the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday. The Centre had accepted in toto a Joint Select Committee’s report on the legislation and had provided for cross-border insolvency (which was not covered in the original Bill introduced in 2015). The Centre said the Bill has also strengthened workmen rights as well as creditor rights.
