Emaar case: B P Acharya shifted to NIMS

Senior IAS officer and prime accused in Emaar Properties case, Mr B P Acharya, was shifted to the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences here on Tuesday after he complained of chest pain.

Mr Acharya, Home Secretary to the Government of Andhra Pradesh was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation on Monday.

Following a special court directive, he is in the custody of CBI till Wednesday evening for interrogation.

``A team of doctors led by cardiologist Dr Seshagiri Rao is a attending to Mr Acharya,’’ said a NIMS official.

The Emaar case pertains to alleged irregularities in the development and sale of a township jointly developed by Emaar MGF and Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation.
