The Central Bureau of Investigation today arrested Mr Vijay Sai Reddy, Director Finance of Jagathi Publications, the publisher of Saakshi daily in the disproportionate assets case of Mr Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy, President of YSR Party and son of former chief minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy.
The arrest is significant and comes after days of investigations and questioning the key man and close aid of Mr Jaganmohan Reddy. The CBI has been questioning him over financial dealings and investments made into the Jagathi Publications by various corporate entities and for possibility of benami transactions and money laundering.
In another case relating to probe into Obulapuram mining cases, the bail granted to senior IAS officer Ms Srilakshmi has been rejected by the Andhra Pradesh High Court.
