At the end of day three, 12 rounds of bidding were completed in the e-auction of the first batch of Private FM Radio Phase-III channels. Four rounds of bidding took place on the third day.
Eleven cities saw excess demand, which include Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Delhi, Guwahati, Jodhpur, Mumbai, Patna, Pune and Rourkela.
“At the close of the third day of bidding, 80 channels in 55 cities became provisionally winning channels with cumulative provisional winning price of ₹549 crore against their aggregate reserve price of about ₹377 crore,” the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting said in statement.
At the same time, Surat, Tiruchy, Udaipur, Tirupati, Varanasi, Karnal, Vijayawada, Warangal, Amritsar, Asansol, and Ajmer, among others, continued to see no bids.
