Food tech institute cost estimate

A revised cost estimate of Rs 479.91 crore to set up the National Institute of Food Technology, Entrepreneurship and Management at Kundli, Haryana, was approved by the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs on Thursday.

Earlier, the project cost was estimated at Rs 244.60 crore. The institute aims to be a global centre of excellence, integrating all facets of food science, technology, entrepreneurship, research and management.

It will be recognised as the focal point for catalysing the growth of the food processing industries in India in the global context.
