Vigilance raids were today conducted at the premises of former DMK minister Mr K. Ponmudi and his relatives in Chennai and his native Villupuram, 160 km from here.
The raids were conducted following complaints against the former Higher Education Minister of amassing disproportionate assets, police said.
He was arrested in Chennai on August 31 in a land grabbing case.
Former ministers Mr Veerapandi S. Arumugam (Salem), Mr K.N. Nehru (Tiruchi) and Mr N.K.K.P. Raja (Erode) were also arrested on land grabbing charges in the crackdown launched by the Jayalalithaa Government on land grabbing.
