The Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) today expressed hope of an early solution to the problems in Darjeeling Hill after its leadership had discussions with the State administration on the issue.
"We had a very cordial meeting. We raised seven points. The talks remained inconclusive today and will continue tomorrow,” the GJM general secretary, Mr Roshan Giri, told reporters at the Writers' Building.
Mr Giri was accompanied by GJM MLAs Mr. Harkabahadur Chhetri and Mr Wilson Champari besides the party's central committee member Mr. L B Pariar.
The State Chief Secretary, Mr Samar Ghosh; the Home Secretary, Mr G.D. Gautama; the District Magistrate of Darjeeling, Mr M.K. Gandhi and the DGHC (Darjeeling Gorkha Hill Council) administrator, Mr Anil Verma, represented the State government at today's meeting.
