The Singapore Government has appointed Gopinath Pillai as the special envoy by to Andhra Pradesh to speed up the development of the new capital city.
The 79-year-old Gopinath Pillai, who is the chairman of the think tank Institute of South Asian Studies (ISAS) and an ambassador-at-large for Singapore, was introduced by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Singapore Minister Shanmugham, at Secretariat today.
The Singapore Government, whose services have been enlisted by AP, is expected to present a draft master plan of the new capital by June.
